Who is this for? 

This program is for up to two adults who would like to learn how to work with horses in beautiful mid-eastern South Dakota. You may bring your horse or if you do not have your own to bring, no problem! A horse will be provided for you to work with during the week. Be sure to bring your saddle whether you bring your horse or not.

What should I expect?

From groundwork to trail riding, you will be observing various training methods as well as gaining hands-on experience in applying what you learn to your own horse. You will work with Enck’s Training in training horses for about 8 hours per day. You will get to enjoy the beauty of South Dakota from the back of a horse through trail rides at various locations, with a few “extra” horse-related activities. It will be a full, fun week of horses. Bring a friend and enjoy the experiences together.

 

Are food and lodging provided?

A 2-bedroom apartment will be provided in town, a 7-minute drive west from the Enck’s Training facility. Basic food and vouchers for restaurants in town will also be provided for each day. The apartment will be available after 3 p.m. the day before your lesson starts.

 

If bringing your own horse, feed and board will be provided by Enck’s Training.

When can I sign up?

Sign up on our Book Online page at least one week before the start of your program. The dates listed are our only availability for 1-week programs. Expect to arrive by Sunday late afternoon and leave by Saturday afternoon.

 

Where will this program take place?

Enck’s Training is located at 22143 430th Ave, Carthage, South Dakota. The provided lodging is a 7-minute drive west of the Enck’s Training facility into Carthage.

How much will it cost?

The price is $1,600 per rider for up to two adults. When booking online, you will be required to pay a down payment of $300 per person, be sure you pay for both riders when you register and pay the deposit. The remainder will be paid in person. Do NOT pay more than your down payment online. We accept PayPal, major credit/debit cards, checks, and cash.

Cancellation policy

If you cancel your session there will NOT be a return of your down payment.
